When I created this artefact, I was curious about what AI could do with visuals. I started this project to explore comic and infographic creation using ChatGPT.

Planning and Development

I’ve always been passionate about using stories, games, and comics in learning. I decided to experiment with AI to see if I could create a small infographic, designed as a comic, based on the Learning Styles myth. Originally, I wanted the comic to be interactive with a voiceover, but when I pieced this all together, it didn’t feel right, so I went back to basics and decided to keep it as a simple infographic.

Techniques

I used several prompts to create the initial graphic and comic layout. I asked ChatGPT to take on the role of a graphic designer and described how I wanted the comic to look. I also provided ChatGPT with the brand colours for the eLearning Academy.

Challenges

The biggest challenge was getting ChatGPT to recreate portions of this image. This issue was twofold; getting it to recreate the image in the same style and asking it to recreate portions of the image in different colours. In the end it was easier for me to edit the image in Illustrator, as I could apply the exact colours I needed.

Summary

It’s been a good learning experience to experiment with AI to create imagery. I could have designed this myself in Illustrator with some stock imagery but I wanted to see how far I could go using ChatGPT as a creative assistant. Most of the copy stayed the same throughout, as it already suited the purpose. Overall, I was pleased with the outcome and enjoyed the process of blending storytelling, visuals, and AI.
